It is a great pleasure to present Annul report for the year 2017-2018 before you.MJS –Ranchi has left behind another year via- a- via the eighteenth year of journey in fulfilling its mandate in the field of humanitarian aid keeping in view the development of women and children and more precisely the downtrodden living in the hilly areas of Jharkhand .
It is the year where abundance of achievements, progress, success, experience, failures as well as overcoming challenges, we have met.
It’s always being a challenge to effectively implement any programme within a timeframe. In the micro-level, the year 2017-18 is the year of implementation, expansion and escalation of our various developmental projects. But, on the macro – level, the development what we are witnessing is one of lop-sided. This especially true in a country like India where a large number of vulnerable sections are experiencing inequalities at all the levels.
Keeping in view the inequality at all levels in our society , MJS-Ranchi from its very inception , identified inclusive growth of women self – help groups (WSHGs) and its livelihood support – as the core areas of its activities . In the year 2017, we have initiated other livelihood activities for the benefit of our WSHG members resides in the remote areas of Ranchi, Simdega, Saraikela - Kharswan districts of Jharkhand. With the support of NABARD, micro- enterprises development programme (MEDP) and livelihood and enterprises development programme (LEDP) ; skill development and capacity building training, conducted workshops in different places of the said districts for the sole benefit of our WSHG members. The footprints of MJS-Ranchi in the developmental and humanitarian sectors have been growing steadily. Strategic implementation of programmes with an aim of overall development of beneficiaries along with the community has been the driving force for us.
Another focus area of MJS- Ranchi is building and strengthening of community based organization through watershed development programmes with the assistance of JTDS and NABARD in the Ranchi and Saraikela – Kharswan districts respectively. Through revitalize these community based organizations ,development programs and right-based approach strengthened further at community level as it witnessed an increased participation of rural women and people belonging from marginalized sections into decision-making .
Almost for the last one and a half decades , the communication system globally witnessed a sea–change. The geographical barriers are no more a challenge before the nations. A single stroke in mouse bring the world within the fold. At the supersonic computer age , the ‘global village’ is no more by ‘acronym’ only, it is a reality. On the footprint of the above , the ‘have- not’s section of the society are no more above it.
With the sponsorship of NABARD, 3377 no. of our WSH groups consisting of 37370 no. of women has been digitized and uploaded into “E-Shakti” portal. Through this portal, the remotest WSHGs’ along with their respective members’ details can be seen anywhere from country, which is no doubt a revolutionary concept on part of the Govt. of India. We are proud to be a very small partner of the said revolutionary initiative. Finally, I would like to convey my heartfelt greetings to our funding agencies like NABARD, JTDS , Govt. of Jharkhand, JSACS, for rendering their unstinted support in the development initiative. Also at the same time , I convey my best wishes and regards to all the staff-members of team MJS, Govt. agencies and Govt. administrations at the district level, bankers – without whose active co-operation the things could not be materialized.
Once again my congratulations to you all.
